Mark Williamson Williamson Family Farm – 75 Years in Murfreesboro

Dr. Mark Williamson was born in Murfreesboro, Tennessee and became a busy Orthopedic Surgeon in Iredell County, NC. As a solo practicioner, he remained the highest volume surgeon at his hospital for over 10 years where he served most of that time as Chairman of the Department of Surgery. His practice focused on adult reconstructive surgery, specializing in the spine and joints. He has since returned home to take care of the Williamson Family Farm.

The farm's journey has been nothing short of remarkable, with its evolution from a dairy farm with commodity crops, to a multifaceted venue offering diverse events and activities for the community, as well as a working organic farm.

It was established on September 2, 1953. The Williamson Family Farm is a 200+ acre farm located in the heart of Murfreesboro. It's owned and operated by the descendants of Mark Bascom and Mitsue Williamson, the farm has a treasured history of agricultural excellence and authentic Tennessee hospitality.

It is a living, working farm offering leisure and transformative experiences utilizing diverse events and activities. It marries small-farm heritage with emerging farm practices that showcase how small farms can thrive into the future. In addition, it incorporates sustainability, including in its farming practices the use of solar energy.
