The Madison/Goodlettsville Rotary club was approved by the State Legislature to launch the plate for the benefit of all Tennessee Rotary organizations.  The funds raised will support community programs of TN Rotary clubs.

Tennessee is the national pilot for this program!  The Promote Peace Foundation (PPF) was formed to act as a neutral hub between State’s Government and local Rotary organizations.  PPF is a 501.c.3 run by Rotarians.

To officially launch the plate, 1,000 first editions have to be reserved by June 1, 2024.  There is no initial cost and no limit to reservations. For example, anyone with multiple vehicles in their family can reserve plates and possibly receive sequential plate numbers.

The first year’s cost of the plate is normally $35, BUT that that fee is paid by Tennessee Rotary organizations through pledges being raised that total $35,000.  The free first year is a “Thank you” from Rotary for helping launch this program.  After the first year, $35 will be added by DMV to the normal vehicle registration fees.  The Department of Revenue sends the plate fee to PPF, which donates the funds to Rotary Districts for club grants.

Yes, there is no Rotary logo on the plate. This is a CAUSE OVER CLUB campaign to promote peace, attract subscribers beyond Rotarians, and maximize the potential revenue for the local projects of Rotary clubs.  The two letters R.I. for Rotary International has been requested and, if available when launched, will likely be assigned.
