Sarah Wade is currently serving in her second year as President of the Master Gardeners of Rutherford County. Since becoming a certified Master Gardener in 2020 (1 of 10 graduates during the pandemic), Sarah has volunteered in almost every area of the program. These projects include Garden Basics, Saturday library classes, Action Line on WGNS Radio and other podcasts, working at the local Farmers Markets Master Gardener Information Tables, Tennessee Environmental Council’s Tree Day, the Master Gardener Grape Harvest and pruning days at the vineyard, and many others. She also co-developed and taught a rain barrel class with funds from a Murfreesboro Breakfast Rotary Club grant during Summer 2023.

Sarah loves to teach and has done so in many of the Master Gardener programs. Her favorite topics are seed starting, Smart Yards, and raising monarch butterflies. She loves to watch people’s eyes light up when they realize they really can grow plants. Like any true garden addict, she can’t walk past a plant store without 'looking around'. Sarah is an enthusiastic home gardener, wife and mother of three children.
